Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Tell Me ("Tell Me," "we," or "us") handles information when you visit tellme.studio or use the Tell Me service.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide or authorize us to access, including:

• Account information, such as your name, email address, profile image, and authentication identifier.
• YouTube data authorized through Google, including channel information, public videos, comments, replies, and the information needed to publish replies you explicitly send.
• Product data, including review status, notification preferences, connected-channel settings, support messages, category corrections, video-packaging seeds and constraints, uploaded or generated visual assets, title and thumbnail drafts, experiment status and results you report, and optional explanations you provide.
• Technical, acquisition, and usage information, such as device, browser, diagnostic, security, product analytics, referring hostname, landing path, campaign parameters, and advertising click identifiers where enabled.
• Subscription and transaction information. Payment details are collected and processed by Paddle, not stored by Tell Me.

How we use information

We use information to provide and secure the service, synchronize and organize comments, classify comments into product categories, create editable title-and-thumbnail packaging you request, preserve your packaging experiments and reported learnings, carry out actions you request, send opted-in notifications, provide support, administer subscriptions, understand product performance and acquisition, measure advertising where enabled, and meet legal obligations.

To check quality and fix failures, the Tell Me team reviews the thumbnail previews we generate together with the prompt, submitted video and channel that produced them. This includes prompts entered on our public pages before signing in, which we keep for up to 30 days even if you do not create an account. We send this review to ourselves as a daily internal email, with aggregate visit and advertising counts, and delete those emails within 30 days.

When you start a thumbnail on our public pages, you may add a photo of yourself or reference images before signing in. We remove file metadata, such as location and device details, and keep these images with your video idea for up to 24 hours. If you sign in within that time, they move to your project and are kept with it; otherwise we delete them. We use a reference image only for its colors and style; it is not placed in your thumbnail. The popular thumbnails shown for you to choose from are displayed from YouTube; Tell Me stores only which ones you picked.

We collect limited browser error diagnostics to investigate failures, including the error type, broad product area, browser family and generated code locations. These diagnostics go to Tell Me’s hosting infrastructure. They exclude error messages, full URLs, searches, comment content and account identifiers.

Product analytics and session replay

We use Google Analytics 4 and Mixpanel to understand acquisition, product use and failures. Mixpanel Session Replay may reconstruct pages you visit, clicks, scrolling, visible content and values entered into ordinary form fields across our website, free tools, onboarding and console. This can include YouTube links and searches, displayed comments and channel statistics, reply drafts, support messages, and video-packaging ideas, titles, generated text, thumbnails and other displayed media. Replay metadata can include page URLs and their query parameters.

We rely on Mixpanel’s mandatory masking of password, payment-card, email, phone, hidden and autofill-enabled inputs and other fields it identifies as sensitive. We do not add further page-content or media exclusions; ordinary images, video and audio are visible. We do not enable replay recording of browser console output or network request and response bodies. Google sign-in and Paddle's hosted checkout are outside our site's replay capture.

Our product-event reports include usage information and, for video packaging, public YouTube channel names, handles, channel and video identifiers, public video titles, and canonical YouTube links. They exclude raw searches, comment bodies, private video ideas and generated drafts. Session Replay follows the separate rules above and may include that content when displayed or entered on the page.

Classification and your feedback

When you change a comment's category, we record the previous and new categories, the associated comment text, your optional explanation, and information about the classification. We use this feedback to improve future classifications in your workspace and, where you have agreed to this use, to evaluate improvements that may benefit other Tell Me users. Changing a category does not change the comment on YouTube. Learning updates do not automatically change categories already assigned to your comments.

When you request a reply suggestion, our AI provider processes the selected comment, relevant conversation, video title and description, available captions, and relevant earlier creator replies under that video. Suggestions are editable and are never posted automatically. We retain suggestion text for up to one hour and record whether a reply used Tell Me assistance so it is not reused as independent factual evidence. Cached video context follows our YouTube data refresh and deletion controls.

Our AI provider may process relevant comment text, limited conversation context, video titles, and correction explanations to provide and evaluate classification. We do not include account email addresses or commenter profile information in classification requests. We do not send your original comments or explanations to other customers as examples. Shared improvements use separately authored guidance and examples that pass independent tests; this process does not train custom model weights.

When you request video packaging, our AI provider processes the seed, working title, factual or brand constraints, and any bounded owned-video or channel context you selected to create three strategy and package drafts. When you request an image layer, it also processes that layer's visual brief and any reference image you explicitly provide. Generated image requests exclude the deterministic text and layout added by Tell Me. Private packaging inputs and generated drafts are excluded from product-event reports; public YouTube metadata may be included as described above; visible text and entered values may appear in Session Replay as described above.

Source comments and identifiable feedback remain subject to deletion. When source text becomes obsolete or is deleted, we remove the associated text copies and learning links as applicable. Disconnecting your channel or deleting your account also removes its source-linked feedback. Independently authored guidance, examples, and non-identifying results from independent tests may remain after source evidence is deleted. A slightly rewritten copy of your comment is not treated as independent material.

Google and YouTube data

Tell Me's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Tell Me does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising. Google's permission is broader than comment-only access, so Tell Me restricts its provider mutations to comment creation, editing, deletion, and moderation. Public or destructive comment actions require your explicit instruction. Tell Me does not edit or delete videos, playlists, captions, ratings, subscriptions, or channels.

When you connect YouTube, Tell Me requests read-only access to your YouTube Analytics reports alongside comment access. If that analytics permission is not granted or is later revoked, you can reconnect it from Today without losing inbox access. We use channel and video statistics, including views, watch time, subscriber changes, average view duration, thumbnail impressions and click-through rates, to display your morning summary. These statistics are not sent to our AI provider or included in product-event reports; statistics displayed on the page may appear in Session Replay. Reports can arrive later than the statistics shown in YouTube Studio.

Service providers and disclosure

We share information only as needed with providers that help operate Tell Me, including Google and Firebase for authentication and YouTube access, hosting and database providers, OpenAI for comment classification, reply suggestions, evaluation, and requested text or image packaging generation, analytics providers, browser-push infrastructure, Resend for support and internal operational email, and Paddle for subscriptions, checkout, tax, and payment support. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

Public-video exploration and shared draw records

Explore can read public YouTube comments without connecting your channel. Prepared comment and reply snapshots are associated with your Tell Me account and expire within 30 days of their oldest source data. You can remove them from Recent videos. Removing a YouTube connection does not remove separately requested public-video research; deleting your Tell Me account removes both. When you explicitly create a shareable giveaway record, winning comment links, eligibility rules and optional creator credit become available to anyone with its link for up to 24 hours. Downloaded exports and draw records are copies you control.

When you request comment research through an assistant plugin, Tell Me retrieves public video metadata, comments and replies without a Tell Me account or channel connection. We return comment text, publication dates, limited conversation context and YouTube source links to your requesting assistant provider. We omit commenter profile fields; comment text and source links may still contain personal information. Our shared raw-response cache expires within 24 hours. Encrypted continuation tokens expire within 30 minutes, or sooner when their source data expires. We do not create a separate retained research corpus or send an additional AI-generation request for this workflow. Copies in your assistant conversation follow that provider's privacy and retention controls.

Free-tool security checks

Our browser free tools use Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent automated abuse. Cloudflare processes browser and network signals for this check under its Privacy Policy. Tell Me uses a short-lived browser session and hashed network identifiers to enforce usage limits. We do not send your YouTube URL, searches, or comment content to Turnstile. Browser security sessions expire after 30 minutes, and expired sessions, limits, and short-lived usage counters are removed regularly. The assistant research endpoint uses separate request and concurrency limits and hashed network identifiers; it does not use a browser challenge or store your searches or comments in these security counters.

Retention and deletion

We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Disconnecting YouTube through Tell Me revokes our Google access and deletes the imported channel, video, comment, reply, analytics, and channel-notification data held by Tell Me; it does not delete anything from YouTube. You can also revoke access in your Google Account permissions. Account owners can permanently delete account and associated product data from Plan & billing settings after recent reauthentication, or contact support@tellme.studio for help. Some transaction and legal records may be retained where required.

We regularly refresh connected-channel analytics. Unrefreshed analytics snapshots expire after 30 days; cached daily thumbnail reports are kept for a rolling 35-day reporting window. Disconnecting your channel or deleting your account removes these analytics records.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Tell Me and its providers may process information outside your country. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of your personal information, or object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children

Tell Me is a business service and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
